Aid Re-imagined

Aid Re-imagined

There are now multiple fronts within the humanitarian ecosystem that calls for important reforms, such as such as promoting a robust design; thinking in systems; and improving accountability. But there is a lack of a coherent framework approach that integrates all of these together. The Aid Re-imagined model strives to fill this gap.

On this webinar, our fellow Arbie Baguios presents his AID re-imagined model which intends to shift the humanitarian paradigm in order to improve its real scope. Through combining science, systems, thinking, and social justice this fresh and innovative idea aims to argue that a paradigm shift is possible. This webinar is facilitated as well by or fellow Smruti Patel.

Cash Assistance

Cash Assistance

The future of cash report is the product of a collaborative process with the Cash Learning Partnership (CaLP) to envision the future of financial assistance to meet humanitarian needs, with a 2030 horizon. The analysis uses foresight methodologies to propose 4 scenarios for the future of financial assistance. These aim to support humanitarian actors involved in cash assistance to collectively understand how they will most effectively capitalise on the future trends relating to financial assistance, to best meet humanitarian needs. CaLP and IARAN organised this webinar to present the report findings and gather feedback.

Emerging Technologies

Emerging Technologies

Despite decades of commitments, crisis-affected people continue to have very limited ability to influence aid decisions or hold aid actors accountable. Growing interconnectivity between people and communities globally, supported by the spread of technology, will provide more choices for people to organize their own response, expand avenues for people to connect with formal and non-formal aid providers who are willing to meet their priorities. How accessible emerging technological solutions actually are to crisis-affected people? How they can help to provide an unfiltered voice for engaging with services? Shadrock Roberts from Ushahidi and Paul Currion from Disberse discuss how accessible emerging technologies are to those affected by crisis in this hour long webinar.
