Alisha Salsabila Indrawa

Alisha is a disaster management professional specialising in disaster risk reduction (DRR), gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI), and monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL). She holds a Master’s in Disaster Management with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland. Her thesis, Governmentality of Disability in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Policies, examines 23 policy documents across international, national, and local levels to critically assess how disability is framed within DRR and CCA, and what this means for inclusive policy and practice.

Alisha has worked with various organisations, including the IFRC and the ICRC. She is currently a consultant supporting local disaster management agencies, NGOs, and CSOs across Indonesia. Her work spans multiple regions in Indonesia, including Sulawesi, Tanah Papua, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and Maluku, where she contributes to institutional strengthening and integration of inclusive approaches into disaster governance.

Alisha’s interests include critical disaster studies, inclusive DRR, and the incorporation of Indigenous knowledge into disaster management strategies. She joined the IARAN community of practitioners as a deliberate step to continue learning alongside peers who are committed to strengthening the humanitarian and development spaces.
